Sinister producer and small-time gangster Barry wants ‘The Seven Holes of Rome’ to be the first film to make the crossover from the porn cinema to the multiplex, earning him a fortune in the process. To this end, he has employed Pawel, the world’s grumpiest arthouse filmmaker, to bring some legitimacy to the project.
Unfortunately for Pawel, Barry has cast the same talentless bunch of actors he always uses for his porn films:
Jason, big on penis, small on brains; Misty, a born-again Christian, who has a cast-iron excuse for working in adult films; Brad, who uses the money he earns in porn to subsidise his experimental theatre group; Shannon, a busty blonde nymphomaniac who loves her work; and Katya, who is saving up to get back home to Lithuania and kickstart her career as a presenter on a shopping channel.
Always looking to save money, Barry has also “employed”, through her menacing Albanian Pimp, a pretty Chinese girl, Lien, who speaks no English and spends the whole shoot in terrified silence.
Behind the camera, Darren, the runner, is Barry’s bitch. Desperate to follow in his late father’s footsteps, he will do anything to be a porn star. But he didn’t count on having a gun pointed at him, his foreskin critiqued or being arrested. And he certainly never expected to fall in love...
Adult Content is a black comedy that shows the unglamorous side of the adult film industry. It satirises modern society’s obsession with pornography. And it’s quite rude about Hull, too.
